POKOTABI / PLACES WORTH A DETOUR
豆末本舗
Mamesuehonpo is known for its sweetened peanuts made with large kernels. The shop also offers Setsubun beans, shelled peanuts, okaki rice crackers and okoshi, giving visitors a range of bean-based snacks to choose from.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
The peanut amanattō is the first thing to catch the eye at Mamesuehonpo. Visitors note that each piece is made with a large peanut, and one says they are so delicious it is tempting to eat too many. Another visitor describes the nuts as “amanattō-style” and says they have a soft texture. They are worth considering if you are looking for a snack that lets you enjoy the texture of the beans.
The shop sells more than sweet bean snacks. One visitor reports that Setsubun beans are available throughout the year, and that there are also shelled peanuts, okaki rice crackers and okoshi. That makes it possible to choose both sweet and savoury snacks, with beans and peanuts at the heart of the selection. The shop is open from 10:00 to 17:00 and is closed on Sundays.
